7 and 7 on Saturday: September 9, 2017

Good morning all – it’s time to perform the Saturday recap of some of the best blogs from my friends and acquaintances.  It’s the “7 and 7,” where I showcase seven community  blogs from the Times Union’s blog portal, and then offer seven blogs from my personal blogroll.

And if someone asks me, “Chuck, why are you still promoting the community bloggers from the TU, it’s not like you’re writing for them any more.”

True.  But it’s not like the TU is promoting the community bloggers as much as I did when I was blogging with Big Hearst, either.  Heck, there’s one staff blogger right now who does a “20 things you didn’t know about me” wrapup, and in that platform she showcases everyone in the 518/838 except the community bloggers. $20 to a charity says there won’t be one current community blogger featured in that wrapup for the rest of 2017.

Just sayin’ is all…

No matter.  Let’s get this party started, shall we?

Let’s start our recap with:

  1. David Kalish’s “The Ruminator” blog, “Bringing back an imperiled butterfly, one chrysalis at a time.” (Read this first.)
  2. Rob Hoffman’s “Hoffman Files” blog, “It all begins with tuna fish.
  3. Walter Ayres’ “Faith in the Public Square” blog, “Religious reaction to DACA announcement.
