So I’m going under the knife today. By the time you read this, I will be swimming in a bath of anesthesia, while the doctor surgically repairs my ankle.
So while I’m trying to get through the surgery …
I’m going to need some music to keep me going.
So let’s get started with …
Touch Me (All Night Long)
Nothing like a little 90’s girl-pop to get me feeling good. Positive motivation, amirite?
THE KLF feat. TAMMY WYNETTE
Justified and Ancient
The KLF were a series of techno artists who rounded up country singer Tammy Wynette … and got her to sing a Top 20 techno pop hit. Go figure.
THE COVER GIRLS
Because of You
This should keep me energized, because how can you go wrong with this freestyle group of super-hot singers? Yeah, you know I’m right on this.
On My Own
Here’s what I know about this one-hit wonder … apparently the creator of this group normally works in punk rock music, this was his attempt for a light pop song. And it works.
Melanie Makes Me Smile
This Australian group had a Top 10 hit Down Under with this song, and if you can get past those five-alarm collared shirts they’re wearing … it’s a great song in and of itself.
MAJOR HOOPLE’S BOARDING HOUSE
I’m Running After You
Named after a 1940’s-era newspaper cartoon, Major Hoople’s Boarding House had several hits in Canada, this was their biggest and most successful track.
When I Was a Children
Gotta love that homegrown Capital District rock and roll. And this should have been a much bigger hit than it was. And even with that, it’s still a great song and definitely worth a pep in your step.
Loose Lip Sync Ship
“The Hogs” were actually the legendary 60’s group Chocolate Watchband, and this “freak-out” track has been credited as being produced by Frank Zappa, but honestly Zappa was not involved in this song. But it sure sounds like him, doesn’t it?
Okay, I hope you enjoy today’s K-Chuck Radio, and hopefully by this time tomorrow, I should be back in shape and blogging and healing from the surgery.
Thoughts and hopes.
