It’s gotten to the point where we need a good old-fashioned bathroom joke to get us through this COVID-19 crapola.
And it came in the form of the governor of Mississippi, who participated in a virtual graduation ceremony. During the ceremony, he read off the names of the graduates … and one name somehow made it to the final list.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha … Harry Azcrac. You gotta give credit to whoever was sly enough to sneak that name into the list of graduates.
And you’re saying to me, “But, Chuck, what if there really was a Harry Azcrac in the graduating class?”
Oh, I’m SURE there was. He probably went to school with this kid. One of the funniest scenes in the teen comedy Porky’s. You don’t remember Porky’s? What the hell is wrong with you? Go put it on your Netflix queue.
And if you’re a fan of the Simpsons, you probably know about all the people that are SUPPOSED to be at Moe’s Tavern, all of whom are just a phone call away.
And if you think those “Bart Pranks Moe” calls are something, you should hear where the inspiration for THOSE came from – check out this series of 1970’s prank calls made by a couple of guys to a New Jersey bar owner. I can’t figure out the funnier part – that the bar owner keeps falling for these jokes, or his profanity-soaked reactions afterward.
And if I’m going to list these crank phone calls here … there’s no way I can do this list without including some of the best from Howard Stern’s “Wack Pack” phone pranker, Captain Janks. Captain Janks would call news outlets during crises, when he knew damn well that he could get past the checkers and get right on the air. And then he went to town.
Okay, that was fun. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to look over some of these blog comments from Hugh G. Rection, Heywood jabloughmi, and that fourth grade teacher from the South Park TV show – no, not Mr. Garrison, the OTHER one.
