That’s where I’m located.  Me and eventually 999,999 other people.  In fact, you can see me here.

This is part of a new book called “One Million People,” and it’s an upcoming book which will feature the pictures of one million people in our current digital world.

This is the brainchild of Alex Tew, who previously created a website called the Million Dollar Homepage.  On the page, he sold one million pixels of advertising space for $1 per pixel, selling to anyone interested in purchasing them – until all the blocks were sold, netting him a cool $1 million.

Of course, it also meant he drew the attention of some cyber-pirates, who threatened him with extortion – and when he refused to pay, they crashed his system.  He got it back up, and it’s still running today.

Now, his next project is to take the faces of one million people, and put their pictures into a coffee table book.  This time, it doesn’t cost anything to join up.  There was an initial $3 per picture, but that has since been refunded.

Granted, with a million people in a 1,250 page book, every picture’s going to look like a teeny weeny thumbnail.  That, and it’ll probably run about $100 per hardcover copy.  That’s a lot of scratch for a book project like this.

But it’s still kinda nifty to be part of a project like this… and luckily for me, I was able to get in as early as possible and nab one of the page corners.

So if you want to get in on this, you need a facebook account and a good photograph of yourself – and then visit the One Million People website and test it out!  You can even request five of your friends to be in the book with you!
