During these final days of Kodachrome development, I contacted Dwayne’s Photo in Parsons, Kansas – say it with me, “the only photo lab in the country that can develop Kodachrome film” – and asked if there was some way to commemorate the last development days of Kodachrome.
They originally said they didn’t have anything planned.
I guess they finally came up with something.

Thanks Pat. I did order one for myself already. Realistically, Dwayne’s had to come up with something to commemorate this event – it might not have come from my suggestion (one of the other ideas I had was to have them create a special mount for last-day processing, maybe a gold colored mount). I would just go on the assumption that great minds think alike.
And just so everybody does know, Dwayne’s will still process film in 2011 and beyond – they just won’t process Kodachrome any more. They will still process all other C-41, E-6 and B&W photographic materials.
