So what is this izoca.com that you speak of, sir?

Those of you who are my friends on Facebook know that I limit my friends list to a maximum of 150 people.  That way, I know who you are and you’re not just a picture and a name and a recurring invitation to join Mafia Wars or Farmville.

But there are other social media sites out there, and one of them – izoca.com – held a get-together last night at Dale Miller.  I attended the event, and ran into a few other TU bloggers at the gathering, including Sonya Stark (PilotGirl) and Mary Kenney of the Pay It Forward blog.  I also met up with Colleen Thorn, who is the founder of the Albany communities section of izoca.com.

So what is izoca.com?

It’s a very specific type of community website.  Information about upcoming events can be shared throughout the community page, and people can keep in touch with local activities and the like.  It’s quite a fascinating page, and it sounds like it has some serious potential for community support and such.

With that in mind, I urge you to take a look at izoca.com and see if it’s right for your social media strategies.
