You see this all the time at sporting events. At a break in the action, the camera will invariably pan to the crowd and find some happy couples sitting together, and then guess what – it’s “Kiss Cam” time!! That’s right, you and your significant other get to pucker up in front of everybody in the arena, and it’s all right on the big screen.
When it happens in the Premier Basketball League, usually at Rochester Razorsharks games, the camera goes into the stands, films the couples, and they kiss. Or the camera meets up with perfect strangers who happen to be sitting next to each other, and they might kiss – or shake hands or wave at the camera. The “Kiss Cam” gimmick usually ends with a shot of the visiting bench, focusing on two benchwarmers from the opposing team who just happen to be innocently sitting and minding their own business.
So at a recent NHL hockey game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Philadelphia Flyers, apparently the person operating the “Kiss Cam” decided to go – well – outside the norm, shall we say. Scroll forward to 1:22 of this video clip … and I leave this video to your imagination.
Well, I suppose it’s better than focusing on two Flyers sitting in the penalty box…
