Bethany Parks has always dreamed big dreams. She is a cancer survivor, and that determination and drive of beating back that insidious disease has given her a new purpose. A purpose to help others and to make this world a better place.
With that in mind, she traveled to Njabini, Kenya, to help orphaned children in that country realize their potential. And this Saturday, she’s hosting a fundraiser, “Dream Big Dreams,” a benefit for Flying Kites Global, an organization dedicated to improving the health of millions of orphans in the world’s most impoverished nations. The get-together will also benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Albany, which has helped to improve the lives and enjoyment of thousands of kids in the Capital District area.
The event, which will run from 12-4p at Central Steak in Albany (1632A Central Avenue), will feature tons of fun kids’ activities, as well as other great events. Admission is $25 per adult, $10 for kids under the age of 13. There are family packages available for $60 (two adults, two children) as well.
Remember what I’ve always said about being part of the TU Blog Community. Bloggers support bloggers. And if Bethany Parks can find it in her heart to help an orphaned generation in Kenya, then certainly we can come to Central Steak and be part of a fundraiser for that purpose.
I’ll be there. And I hope to see you there, too.
Chuck… thanks so much for the kind words….
There’s going to be a bunch of us that lived in Njabini at this event. It will be a mini Flying Kites Reunion. Those who attend will get to see that you don’t need to be Mother Theresa to help others….Actually, this group is quite the opposite. Fun Loving, Adventuresome, Risk Takers. Who wouldn’t want to use THAT as a tag line???
Can’t wait to meet you.
Thanks again…
