A few months ago, when I wrote the article on the rock band Din for Goldmine magazine, much was mentioned about the group’s reunion and familial gathering – in honor of one of the band’s most devoted friends. She was Gina Bloxham, also known as Gina Violina.
Here she is, performing at the San Francisco club Mr. Toad’s.
I never had the chance to meet her face-to-face, but I understand that she brought joy and love to all who knew her. She had a smile that could light up a midnight room, and a spirit that could lift your heart with hers.
This is another performance, also at Mr. Toad’s, with her partner August Kube as the duo Hibbitty Skibbitty.
Rest in peace, Gina Violina. Thank you for making the world a much brighter and more fun place.
