Blogger meets blogger: Chuck Miller meets the Professor’s Wife!

The best part about being in the TU Blog Community is that, sooner or later, you end up meeting your  fellow local bloggers in various locations and get-togethers.  I’ve developed some great friendships with members of the TU blog community, and sometimes when a blogger needs some support – fundraiser, charity donation, Chuck needs some unobstructed land so that he can photograph the stars in the sky – it’s nice to know that the bloggers in the community have your back.  It’s a mantra I use from time to time – bloggers support bloggers.

One of the new bloggers to the TU blog-opolis is Stephanie Snyder, she of the “Professor’s Wife” and “Home & Decor” blogs.  Nice person.  Very nice.  She reads my blog, I read hers.  And she’s been a big fan of one of my pictures – Midnight at the Palace Theater.

And yesterday, she and I – along with her husband Todd the Professor (also known as the “blogger’s husband”) and my friend Corrine met up for a meal at Brown’s Brewing.

The four of us had a great time together; Stephanie asked the server if she could try, as Brown’s advertised, “The Best Wings in Troy.”  A few minutes later, a plate of Brown’s best chicken wings arrived.  We talked about our respective blogs, the different approaches to blogging that both of us do; what our boundaries are in terms of what we will and what we won’t blog about; and where we get the inspiration for some of our best blog posts.  The fact that Stephanie and her husband are Marshall University fans is fine by me; that means their school played in the MAC conference against Miami University’s Ben Roethlisberger.  “I remember when Ben Roethlisberger and Byron Leftwich battled back and forth in college,” said Todd.  “Now they’re both in the NFL, and at one time they were both on the Steelers roster.”

“I loved your blog post today about Christmas lights and grapevine accents,” Corrine said to Stephanie. I noted that both Stephanie and Corrine are Keurig coffee aficionados, next thing I know, they’re discussing the difference between the smaller units and the more powerful water-tank units.  Fun stuff.

And before our meal began, I gave Stephanie and Todd a brand new picture for their house.  I recalled her Home & Decor blog post regarding creating a gallery for the home; and since they didn’t have any photos of Capital District iconography, I provided them with their own signed copy of Midnight at the Palace Theater for their home.  Sort of a “Welcome to the Capital District and welcome to the TU blog community” housewarming gift, if you will.

All in all, it was great to meet Stephanie and Todd, and if you haven’t had a chance, check out Stephanie’s TU blogs; you’ll really enjoy them.
