Two years ago, I rewrote a senior college thesis into a serialized blog novel, The Robins of Iverhill. I published it, chapter by chapter, as blog posts in the Times Union. And later, it was published in paperback form.
Last year, I wrote four Christmas-themed short stories, which were very well-received.
Now I’m returning once again to the Adirondack lumber town for Christmas. And I want you to join me in the journey.
This December, I will publish four new short stories in this blog, about how the Town of Iverhill celebrated Christmas in 1973. Every Thursday in December, look for a complete and all-new Iverhill Christmas story. The schedule of stories include:
- On December 1, 2011, you can read “The Black Oak Elementary School Sledding Championship,” a story about what some kids will do when a snowstorm is in session and school isn’t.
- Then, on December 8, 2011, enjoy “The Note,” as we return to Iverhill’s Church of Most Precious Blood and see what Father Al finds in one of the collection boxes.
- On December 15, look for “The Picture and the Wallet,” about what it means to repay a debt – even if it takes a lifetime to do so.
- And on December 22, you can enjoy “Sleeping with Gretchen Peters,” as a chauffeured gesture becomes a journey of introspective thought and self-examination.
Unlike my previous Christmas stories, which appeared in various forms in other publications, the four Christmas stories for today are new and original and written especially for this blog.
I hope everyone enjoys them.
Can’t wait! 😀
