One of my freelance writing clients is the National Basketball League of Canada. As that league approaches its first postseason, I was recently interviewed by the NBL Canada’s official blog crew, and the resulting podcast can be heard at this link.
In case you’re wondering, the NBL Canada is Canada’s first independent professional basketball league in nearly a generation, and each team averages from about 2,500 to 4,000 fans a night. Not bad for a start-up league.
And in case you’re wondering, the Patroons / Siena content for this league is mostly centered around the London (Ont.) Lightning, with former Patroons head coach Micheal Ray Richardson and former Pats player Gabe Freeman in the lineup; the Quebec Kebs have one former Patroon (Shaun Fountain) on the roster, and former Siena grad Tommy Mitchell started the year with Quebec, before moving on to a role with the Golden State Warriors.
Anyways, take a listen to the blog podcast. It’s a fun league and I look forward to seeing a very exciting postseason and all-star game.
