First off, make sure you’re ready to rock out this Saturday in Troy, as there will be hot music up and down River Street. Yep, it’s time for “River Street Riot,” with great music and dancing and food and drinks. And all the proceeds will help benefit the Arts Center of the Capital Region.
Everything starts at about 6pm Saturday night at The Arts Center, with live music by The Tichy Boys, consisting of John Tichy, a founding member of the legendary Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen, and his son Graham, a highly respected local musician, along with others. Food will be provided by Dinosaur Bar-B-Que and Sticky Finger Gourmet Apples, and the entire night is sponsored by Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Twilight Vintage Fashion, and 97.7 WEXT. Loved the Stray Cats clip especially. I was working at an independent TV station back in the mid-80s. “Fridays” was a mid-80s attempt at competition with SNL, hosted by Melanie Charthoff et. al. I remember watching this performance live and couldn’t believe such a sound came out of just guitar, bass and drums.
