Hi neighbor. How are you today?
I’ve mentioned in past blog posts that one of my favorite kids’ shows was Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. It was so much fun to watch, especially when you’re only a few years old you actually think that the nice man in the cardigan sweaters is talking directly to you. Okay, I was probably four years old at the time, but still…
This is absolutely the coolest thing I’ve heard today. Someone took some video clips of the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood TV show and created a trippy video called “Garden of Your Mind.” Absolutely fun stuff. Take a listen. You will enjoy.
This video was created as part of a partnership with remixer John D. Boswell, aka melodysheep, The Fred Rogers Company, and the PBS Digital studios. And it’s really good. A nice way to get through the day, if you ask me.
Even as a kid I thought that show sucked…the only good part was the How It’s Made field trips…or whatever they were called.

That was fantastic… Mr. Rogers was never appreciated by adults… it takes the mind of a child to appreciate his genius!

Ellen-I completely disagree, or prehaps you need to meet more adults! The flood of articles by adults who appreciated Mr. Rogers was not only apparent after his death, but before as well. Indeed, Eddie Murphy’s parody of him on SNL was a tribute to Mr. Rogers that even Fred himself enjoyed. When I worked in tape ops at the New York Network when he was alive whenever we tossed up a rerun of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, you could see the similes of the “adults” who would invariably say, “Hey, I remember watching that episode as a kid!”
How about the Peabody Award in 1987 or or the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2002? Oh yes Ellen, Mr. Rogers was around long enough for the children who watched him to grow to become the adults who did treasure him, and now miss him greatly.
