Ah, the annual Top 10 list of the best photos that came out of my cameras this year. Not counting artwork that would later be repurposed into Dream Windows, these are my ten favorite pictures that were taken from January 1, 2012 to today.
NIGHT TRAIN TO HEAVEN

This was one of my two “Single Shot: Half Shot” photos, it was taken first with an Agfa Chief camera (the railroad tracks) and then the film was respooled to get the neon sign on South Pearl Street with my Agfa Clipper Special.
BLACK STARLIGHT

This was my attempt to achieve a “sun trail” photograph, as opposed to my previous “star trail” attempts.
THE BEAT OF OFFICER HARRIS

This was my second and more successful attempt at the “Single Shot: Half Shot” multi-exposure discipline, as I captured the neon lights of Lark Street.
BUTTERFLY AND CITRUS

Photographed in Boston, after a very emotional day in my life. This photo picked up two ribbons, one at the Big E and one at the Vermont State Fair.
POESTENKILL CASCADE

To get this photo, I used my tripod and my brand new ND filter. This picture was shown at the New York State Fair, and took a first place ribbon at the Big E.
HER STOLEN HEART

Thanks to my model friend Lauren for posing for this picture. It did get submitted to the New York State Fair, and almost made the final cut. And no, by “cut” I don’t mean the cutting out of her insides, as seen in the picture.
STAR TRAILS OF PARADOX LAKE

I still love taking these star trails pictures, and this picture, with its olive-green sky and distant lights, picked up a second-place ribbon at the Big E.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

Got a lot of good response from this picture when I submitted it as a “Caption Time” graphic.
THE JUMBUCK

Get used to seeing this beauty in future competitions. I took this picture at Rhinebeck’s Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival, and I’ve been fiddling with a B&W version of this guy for upcoming competitions. We shall see…
JAMAR ABRAMS SLAM DUNK

Jamar Abrams wins the slam dunk competition at the inaugural NBL Canada All-Star Classic. And I got the picture – er, pictures – to prove it.
Okay. That takes care of 2012. Now I have to get ready for 2013. Cameras are locked and loaded.
Let’s go.
