Normally, this is the kind of feature where a blogger takes the most outrageous comments from their mailbox and posts them here – as some sort of “look at the kooks and nutjobs who write to me and think their message is private, well ho ho on them, they just gave me blogging ammunition!”
Well, I could do that with some of the nasty-grams that I get…
Or I could do this instead.
In the past, I’ve written about and made fun of spambots. But I find that there’s more fun in showing you what they’re writing – and what blog posts they’re writing about. And rather than help promote their spammy wares, I’ve instead used screen captures. On the left of each image is the “commenter” (yeah, like it’s a real person); the center of each image has their “message,” and the right of each image is the blog comment to which they are referring. All these spambots are actual screen captures. All the embarrassment is their own.

And a warning to all you spambots out there… I’m keeping an eye on you. Either improve your grammar, get the subject matter to actually MATCH the blog post… or go bug someone else.
Trust me. I don’t need you spambots, I don’t need your spam plots, I hope all your spam rots, don’t even promise me Spamalot. Is this info you got? I say captain, you say wot.
Oh and if you don’t get that reference…
