So you’re probably wondering… “Chuck, do you actually READ these blogs that you’re promoting every Thursday in your own TU blog?”
And I respond… “You betcha.”
See, the basis of this regular blog feature is to share the best work of my fellow TU community bloggers. I’m not just going through the blogs and picking ten names at random. Trust me. I might not agree with what a blogger may say, but I do defend to the death their right to say it. I might have a differing viewpoint, but I will argue that their viewpoint is well-crafted and intelligent.
Trust me. Read these blogs and you will feel smarter for doing so.
And this week’s ten-slice cut of cheese-and-pepperoni goodness includes:
- Richard Seegal’s “Your Brain: An Owner’s Manual” blog, “Vaccines Yes! Autism No!” (I still can’t believe that people are more willing to believe Jenny McCarthy’s comments on how inoculation causes autism, rather than listen to doctors who completely disprove that false hypothesis)
- Stephanie Snyder’s “A Professor’s Wife” blog, “Did I make the wrong choice?” (No you didn’t. You chased a dream and this might have been your last opportunity to achieve that dream.)
- Dan Lyons’ Classic Cars blog, “Rear View Mirror: 1977 Pontiac Can Am.” (You can never go wrong with classic 1960’s – 1970’s Pontiac rides. Spoken by someone whose first car was a Pontiac.)
- Roger Green’s “Information Without The Bun” blog, “End the blood donation ban on gay men.” (True. Not all gay men have AIDS. This is 2013.)
- Jeannine M. Trimboli’s “Real [Fit] Life” blog, “Relax, It’s Summer.“
- Greg Back from the “Beer Nut” blog, “Vermont: Craft Beer Heaven.“
- Gina Peca’s blog, “Remember September.“
- Brad Shear’s Mohawk Hudson Humane Society blog, “Cuomo Signs 2 Animal Friendly Bills.“
- Liz Lemery Joy’s “Joy In These Days” blog, “Prayer Alert for America and Americans.“
- Andrew Gregory’s local music CRUMBS blog, “Everywhere Joe Nacco’s Been, There’s ¢#@[]$!.“
You can’t go wrong with these blogs. Or with the many other community blogs that the Times Union offers in its blog portal.
Now bring back the “Best of Our Blogs” feature in the TU’s print edition already!
And I read you! Love the Calvin & Hobbes this week, in particular.
