It’s Sunday morning. There’s a nice coating of snow on the ground.
Let’s go shooting.
And that’s what I did. The Nikon Df camera and I went for a leisurely Sunday drive, until we reached the hamlets of Crescent and Vischer Ferry. In fact, I’m not sure whether I was in Crescent or Vischer Ferry… maybe they’re the same town, for all I know.
And as I drove along a winding road, I caught a glimpse of a beautiful creek, its snow-tinted banks winding through a forest path. Nice. Gotta get a shot of this.

Yeah, that’s a nice looking iron chair along the stream.
True story. As I parked the car and hauled my camera gear (the Nikon, the tripod, my self) to the spot, I saw another car pull up, and the driver got out and took a picture of the creek with her cell phone camera.
Wow. Popular spot.
Anyway, before you start griping at me about why I’m taking a lot of winter-stream pictures of late, this one is actually a bit different. This shot was actually caught while I was experimenting with colored lens filters. In this case, the original picture was photographed with a blue filter on the lens, then the picture was converted into black and white.
I like how this picture turned out… and it’s definitely something worth pursuing later on.
Plus, it wasn’t as chilly-cold last Sunday as it was a few weeks ago, when I took the Waterwish pictures.
Chuck Miller,
Hello. My name is Andy Kemmis. I am the marketing coordinator for Rocky Mountain School of Photography (RMSP) based in Missoula, Montana. I am reaching out to you today to let you know of an upcoming event we are bringing to Albany on March 1-2, which you might find interesting seeing as how you are involved in photography in your community.
The event – A Photo Weekend in Albany, NY – is a one- or two-day photo education experience with two of our instructors, Tim Cooper and Tony Rizzuto. If you are interested in night photography, Tim recently co-authored a book called Night Photography: From Snapshots to Great Shots. This event has already captured the interest of quite a few photographers in the Albany area. To learn a bit more about it, here is a link to our site: https://www.rmsp.com/weekends/2014-albany-new-york/
I hope you check out our event. If you have any questions about it, I would love the chance to speak with you. My email address is andyk@rmsp.com and my phone number is 800-394-7677.
Thank you,
Andy Kemmis
