We need to look at our life from a different perspective.
We need to see something that we’ve never seen before.
We need to cut away our safety nets, breathe in the cool air and know that whatever we do at that moment, we won’t hold back.
I’ve learned this over the past few years. I’ve learned to look at myself from different angles. To see how others see me. To fix what can be fixed, to embrace what can be embraced, and to walk away from the pain others have caused.
It’s never easy. I’ve said in the past, forgiving does not mean forgetting – and I’m also of the mind that once you forget, it’s as if you’re allowing your tormentor a free punch on your unprotected jaw.
I’ve tried to make myself a better person whenever I can. It’s not always successful, but I do try. Help others when I can. Make the moment better than when you arrived. Leave the campground cleaner than when you found it.
And I know that I’m not perfect. Heck, I’m about as perfect as a four-sided triangle. But I have to keep trying to find that new angle in my life.

Truly a new view. Something to review, true? Especially when I knew I was blue, the bad emotions grew and my life was a withered hue. I thought I was through. Nothing to do but sit and stew.
And then I knew… the only mantra to do… “The only one you can fix… is you.”
You only get one shot in this world. One chance to make the best of every single moment of life. Appreciate every raindrop. Embrace every petal. Understand every tear. Bathe in every smile.
Sometimes it’s hard to motivate myself. And then, in that tiny moment between realization and denial, I find this. I find that I’m no longer that scared little kid. I’ve taken those fears and anxieties and refined them into tangible constructs. I’ve turned my fears into novels. I’ve turned my anxieties into photographs. I’ve taken nightmares and turned them into Dream Windows. Heck, I might make a movie next year, what would stop me if I wanted to do so?
This is all part of self-examination. This is part of mediating and prayer and reflecting upon your life.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed in life, reach out and a helping hand will grasp yours.
If you’re feeling elated in life, grab someone’s hand and share that elation with them.
The world can be a very magical and wonderful place. Take a moment and enjoy all that it brings you.
And look at your life from a new angle. Not one of despair. Throw out the D, rearrange the letters and aspire.
Today is going to be a new day.
Make it the best day of your life.
At least the best day until that gets surpassed by the best day you’ll have tomorrow.
