Best of our TU Community Blogs, September 25, 2014: Ten for Thursday

Here we go with another Thursday run of ten Times Union community bloggers whose works you should read.

Again, if you missed why I brought this feature back last week, my goal is to bring enough awareness to these community bloggers and their excellent work that next year, when the Times Union does its annual “Best of the Capital Region” polls, that they add at least two community bloggers to the list of votable choices.  Not just a “fill in the blank as a write-in candidate,” mind you.  Give the community bloggers an opportunity to garner votes.

So this week’s batch of quality blog reading from the Times Union’s collection of community bloggers includes:

  1. Brad Shear’s Mohawk Hudson Humane Society blog, “Help Us Stop an Abuser.
  2. Stephanie Snyder’s “A Professor’s Wife” blog, “Girls, girls, girls, girls – girls I do adore … (month 6).
  3. Lawrence Wright’s “Field of View” blog, “The day the Earth mattered.
  4. Teri Conroy’s “Farmlife” blog, “Summer Recap, the Quietest Chapter (and the Big E).
  5. Rabbi Matt Cutler’s “Congregation Gates of Heaven” blog, “What is new about the New Year?
  6. Azra Haqqie’s “Muslim Women” blog, “Story night.
  7. C. Anthony Burdette in the “We Read Comics” blog, “Comic convention sketch-etiquette.
  8. Chris Marblo’s “Arts Center of the Capital Region” blog, “The birth of a good idea – or why the ‘eureka moment’ is a myth.
  9. Alyssa Johnson’s “Discovering Wildlife” blog, “Best camera trap video of all time.
  10. Professor Warren Roberts’ blog, “Why does 2014 remind me of 1777?

Ten great blog posts by ten great Times Union community bloggers.  Here’s your chance to enjoy them all, and if you know of other community bloggers whose work deserves consideration every Thursday… drop me a line in the comments section and let me know.

Have a great day!
