Best of our TU Community Bloggers, February 19, 2015: Ten for Thursday

Is it morning yet?

Have we seen any grass or flowers yet?

Has a dove flown back with an olive branch in its beak?

No?  Well, I guess that means winter is still in our lives.

But you know what else is in our lives?

This recap of ten great blogs by ten great Times Union community bloggers.

And I’ll let you in on a secret.  I’ve heard that there’s been at least one or two instances where one of the community bloggers actually encouraged a second community blogger to get back to the computer and compose a blog – in other words, now I’ve got TU community bloggers inspiring each other to write great blogs.

Which – as far as I’m concerned – is fantastic.  This is what I’ve been asking for all along – to show that our community bloggers are actually a COMMUNITY.  We look out for each other, we cheer each others’ posts, we want to get each others’ works read and enjoyed by the people.

And that feels great.

So let’s get started, shall we?  Let’s share ten awesome entries by ten awesome TU community bloggers.  And they include:

  1. Fran Rossi Szpylczyn’s “There Will Be Bread” blog, “Staying and Going – A Lenten Journey.”  (Read this one first.)
  2. Dan Lyons’ “Classic Cars” blog, “Rear View Mirror: 1953 Buick Roadmaster Convertible.
  3. Ken Screven’s blog, “All they really needed was Stevie.
  4. Gillian Scott in the “Outdoors” blog, “The anchovy of the Adirondack High Peaks.
  5. Brian Huba’s’ “The Cat’s Pajamas” blog, “The handshake that never was.
  6. Roger Green’s “Information Without the Bun” blog, “Living in a Dumpster: a sociological experiment.
  7. Christopher Marblo’s “Arts Center of the Capital Region” blog, “The exclusive arts.
  8. Stephanie Snyder’s “A Professor’s Wife” blog, “When parenting is one part of life.
  9. Sara Rose Wheeler’s “Roaring Twenties” blog, “He always told me to ‘Wise Up.’
  10. Sonja Stark’s “PilotGirl” blog, “Day hike at Santa Rosa Plateau.

And there you have it.  Some good reading and some thought-provoking articles for your Thursday and for the rest of the week.

And remember… if you find yourself reading a blog by someone whose works you’ve not previously experienced, feel free to leave him or her a note in the comments section.  I’m sure it will be appreciated.

Okay.  Time to get out there and greet the world with a dazzling smile.  Or at least one that’s above freezing.
