Best of our TU Community Blogs, November 19, 2015: Ten for Thursday

I need some cheering up.  Yesterday’s news about Bob & Ron’s Fish Fry closing its Central Avenue restaurant has me bummed.  Another iconic Capital District location ends.  But hey, we’ve received more chain restaurants like Sonic and Joe’s Crab Shack, right… 😦

Sorry.  Just me ranting.

Maybe the blog posts from the Capital District’s community blogging team will help change my frown.  I know they’ll change yours, if you have a frown.

Today’s recap of the Times Union’s top community blog posts include:

  1. Jim Shahen’s “Life and Other Things” blog, “The descendant of Syrian refugees.” (Read this first.) (No, really.  Read this first.)
  2. Carl Strock’s blog, “Terror on top of terror.
  3. Sonja Stark’s “PilotGirl” blog, “It’s (Warren) Miller time in Chamonix, France.(HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONY!!!)

  10. Rob Hoffman in the “Hoffman Files” blog, “Merry Christmas … you’ve been ‘Starbucked!’

Okay.  I feel a little better now.  Reading my fellow Times Union community and independent bloggers’ posts always makes me feel better.

It should make you feel better as well. 😀
