It’s a good day to be a Pittsburgh Steelers football fan.
Because, let’s face it.Β When the Steelers lost that 30-15 game earlier this year to the Miami Dolphins, where Jay Ajayi ran all over the Black and Gold like they were the Yellow Brick Road and he was Dorothy, I’m sure that every Steeler on the team were hungry for a rematch.
And lunch was served – fresh tuna – yesterday afternoon.
It was served when Antonio Brown zinged off two touchdown receptions in the first quarter alone.Β It was plated when Le’Veon Bell ran for 174 yards – a Steelers playoff record – as the six-time-and-soon-to-be-seven-time Super Bowl Champions tore the Dolphins apart.
And Jay Ajayi?Β What did he earn, 30, 35 yards in the game?Β Heck, I can gain more yards walking to my day job and back.Β Pfft.
That’s the way it needs to be.Β The Dolphins get sent back to Florida, and next up for the Pittsburgh Steelers 2017 Super Bowl Victory Tour is a victory over the Kansas City Chefs.
You heard me … Chefs.
And after we deny Kansas City a postseason victory, we get to take apart those nasty, cheating, ball-deflating, spygating, snowplow-driving-through-the-field-to-create-a-solid-field-goal-kicking-surface New England Patriots.Β Yeah.Β And after we knock the Patriots out of the playoffs, then it’s Super Bowl 51.
And by this time, you’re all thinking that I must have gotten my hands on some primo weed.
Don’t care.Β This is the rule of fandom in football.Β You support your squad through good and bad.Β And I know I’m surrounded by the fandom of four different local football teams, but … seriously?Β Would I rather have Antonio Brown fighting for the end zone, or Odell Beckham Jr. barely making catches with two hands because he loves making them with one?
Yeah, you heard me.Β Hey OBJ, I hear you’ve got plenty of time to hang out on the beaches in Miami now.Β And say hello to Jay Ajayi while you’re down there.Β π
So yeah, it’s on to the Super Bowl with Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell, James Harrison, Bud “Quarterback Killer” Dupree, Ryan “Oh look a football to intercept” Shazier, and our gunslinging quarterback.
This is going to be fun.
Double Yoi!
Oh, FOOTBALL, the American version. I saw the Giants lose, badly. Ouch.
