Chris Boswell 18, Kansas City Chiefs 16

I’ve blogged about this topic before.  During the regular season, Chris Boswell scored nearly all the points in a Pittsburgh Steelers victory over Cincinnati with his right foot.

Last night, however, Boswell was responsible for all 18 points the Steelers scored in their playoff victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.  Even when Pittsburgh couldn’t get in the end zone on the feet of Le’Veon Bell, and they couldn’t get in the end zone on the outstretched hands of Antonio Brown … the ball made it through the uprights six times on a six-for-six performance by the Steelers’ kicker.

I guess he should now be considered a fourth “B” of the Steelers’ “Killer Bees,” but that’s just me.

Of course, when it came down to the final minutes, Kansas City hit a last-minute touchdown to bring the Chiefs to within two points of tying the game.  But because of Boswell’s six field goals, the Chiefs had to attempt a two-point conversion.

All Kansas City needed to do was score from the two-yard line after the touchdown and the game would tie up.

And the Kansas City quarterback hit the open man on a missile for those two points…

And those two points came right off the board because Kansas City’s Eric Fisher tried to pull down a rushing James Harrison from behind.  That moved the two-point try back ten yards, and Kansas City’s attempt to recomplete the conversion was batted away in the end zone by Pittsburgh’s Shawn Davis.

And the Black and Gold go on to the AFC Championship Game … where they face the nasty, smelly, deceitful New England Patriots.  Yes.  The Steelers now have to face Tom Brady, Julian Edelman, LeGarrette Blount, and Stephen Gostkowski.

That’s okay.  Pittsburgh has the Killer B’s.

All four of them.

Bring it on Sunday night.

Double Yoi!!
