The fun part about the Thacher Park Nature Show is that I get to take my best outdoor photos and turn them into something wonderful.Β I went through my Adirondacks photos, my Washington State vacation photos, and any other nature-based photos … and submitted my four for this year.
The other day, I received word that of the four images I submitted to the Nature Art Show, they accepted the maximum three images.Β This is great, this is awesome – oh crap, I’ve got to get these printed and foam-boarded and framed up.
So I won’t waste your time with a lot of blather and jibber-jabber … other than to say, here are the following images that were thankfully accepted by the judges for the Thacher Park Nature Art Show this March.
They include:
THE BOREAS PONDS AND ADIRONDACK HIGH PEAKS

I have a very special concept for this artwork, and I’m pleased that the organizers accepted it.Β Wait until you see how it turns out.
THE MAHARI STREAM

The Mahari Stream was photographed during my Washington State vacation … I went up the wrong road to get to Mt. Rainier, and I just saw this little creek on the side of the road.Β Pulled over … steadied my hand … and got this long exposure WITHOUT A TRIPOD.Β Fist pump.
RAINIER

So my “dark horse shot” made the cut.Β This is what happens when you stick Fuji Velvia film in your Leica M3 camera (“Leica Green”) and capture capture capture.
I’ve already got McGreevy Pro Lab printing and foamboarding The Mahari Stream and Rainier, and I have to send them the Boreas Ponds print – in sections – for the third artwork.
This is sweet.
Can’t wait to see how these photos turn out in real life.
SIMPLY GORGEOUS!
