5 > 8 = 2

A week ago, I took my three-dimensional photography setup to the Washington Avenue Armory to capture some Albany Patroons action shots. I did this earlier in the season, and one of my shots, Rejection By Williams, actually received entrance into the International 3D Photography Salon in Vienna, Austria.

Look, I don’t know about you, but if I’m going to enter a three-dimensional photo in competition, I don’t want one where the Patroons are getting posterized. I want the Patroons to do the posterization.

And despite Albany’s valiant efforts last week to hold off the St. Louis Griffins, St. Louis won the third and deciding game, advancing them to the TBL finals and sending the Pats home for the season. I couldn’t have that.

So … I finally downloaded those photos, and tried to find a 3-D combo that would work if I were to submit a lenticular image (or even a flat one) in competition.

And I got this one.

In the shot, Albany’s Mustapha Traore (wearing 5) is launching a mid-range jumper over St. Louis’ Tavares Sledge (8). The shot eventually scored, so technically it’s player 5 over player 8 for two points. Or in faux-rithmetic, “5 > 8 / 2.”

It’s this.

Yeah, see, in my mind, that was the game-winning last-second jumper that sent the Patroons to the 2023 TBL finals, where they eventually beat that other team, whoever they were, and claimed the title. Yeah. That’s the ticket. That’s the answer. That’s what happened.

Right, and then I woke up. 😀

Still … this would make an incredible entry into Competition Season 2023, don’t you think? Maybe? Possibly??
