The past two days were lots of fun, and I could write three or four blog posts to cover all the information. But instead … I’ll lump everything into one blog post for today.
Starting off with my new household tenant.
I purchased an Alexa Echo Dot.
Yeah, yeah, I’m sure all of you are now saying, “Wow, Chuck, welcome to modern times.” But I’m actually allowing this new Alexa to be more of a personal assistant than a crutch. You know … Alexa, give me the weather report and the air quality index for today. Alexa, play the morning news while I’m showering. Alexa, set some cooking timers so I don’t burn my food.
And I’m sure there are other tricks this little computer device can handle. I just have to understand that everything I say to it is probably funneled to some intern at Amazon who’s now tailoring advertisements to my Internet searches. This will most likely explain why my web browsing now includes ads for Nikon cameras and Red Bull.

I received an email from the New Jersey Photography Center. As you know, last year four of my artworks graced the walls of their international photo competition. This year, of the four that I submitted … they chose … none of them.
Oof.
Okay. No panic here. All this means is that next year I make like Avis Rent-A-Car and try harder.
And I’m okay with that.

On my way home Friday night, I stopped at Stewart’s and picked up a couple of sandwiches. It wasn’t until I came home and looked at my purchases that I had an ethical quandary. One that goes all the way back to the essence of evolution.
So I took a picture of the sandwiches and uploaded it online as a meme.

Okay, it’s official. I’m doing DAD jokes now.

I dropped off my artworks at the New York State Fair yesterday, and on the way back I made a “driving break” in Fort Plain. There’s an Amish-themed delicatessen and grocery store in Fort Plain, it also has plenty of backing supplies if you want to make pastries or candies or whatnot. I picked up a small bag of hot-flavored sesame sticks and a couple of granola bars for the remainder of my trip home.
The Amish store also has a connected clothing and fabric store, and if I really wanted to, I could purchase a quilt or six. They also had plenty of shoes – plastic Crocs, believe it or not – and kitchen gadgets and utensils. I almost thought about purchasing a ceramic Dutch oven, but changed my mind at the last minute. Besides, if I bought it there, technically wouldn’t it have been a Pennsylvania Dutch oven? 🙂
Yeah. All in all, a fun couple of days.
Four fragments for four blogs – which I simply blended together into one full blog.
It’s my blog, folks, I can do these things. 😀
Order a chicken and an egg from Amazon.
See which come first!
