In praise of Mic Tyson and the Montgomery Riverfront Brawl

Hopefully by now, you’ve seen the recent viral videos of a massive fight at a riverfront dock in Montgomery, Alabama. Here’s the Reader’s Digest explanation.

A riverboat tried to dock, but couldn’t because a pontoon boat was blocking its way. A security guard asked the pontoon owners to move the boat. The pontoon owners responded by assaulting the security guard. Then, reinforcements arrived to protect the security guard and to drop fists on the assaulters.

And it was all caught on video. Take a look.

Oh, trust me. It gets better.

All we need now is some guy swinging a chair and this cold be a World Star Hip Hop Hall of Fame clip.

I guess this is what happens when you “try that in a small town,” amirite?

And what’s even wilder … are what people did with this video afterwards.

And then we come to Mic Tyson.

Not the boxer, mind you. This Mic Tyson just did running commentary on the Montgomery Riverfront Brawl, and it is the most ON POINT commentary you will EVER hear. From the guy swimming across the water to get in the fight, to the Karens who try to get involved in the fight, to the dude cosplaying Stone Cold Steve Austin with a steel chair …

Oh, hell, I can’t do it justice. You gotta watch it and hear it. Trust me on this.

That’s it. I am dead. I done got killed. I watched this video five times with Mic Tyson’s commentary and I LAUGHED HARDER EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TIME!

I need Mic Tyson to start calling other events. Get him as a commentator in the NFL. I want him to call a Waffle House fight – maybe even the one where the girl catches the one flying chair like she’s Zangief. Put him in an NBA game. Shit, I want him teaming up with Jomboy on a podcast! Make this happen!!

Yeah. I definitely needed this today.

And I think you did, too. 😀
