My 2023 photo entries for the Altamont Fair are …

Ah, the Altamont Fair. The only three-county agrarian gathering in New York, as it encompasses Albany, Schenectady and Greene Counties. It’s also where I enter my artworks each year in the hopes of claiming beautiful blue ribbons and prize money.

And as per tradition, I can’t post what I entered in the Altamont Fair until AFTER I know that all work has been judged.

So what four pictures did I run with this year?

Well, how about these?

ATOMIC NIPPER

I went with this one over my other prism-packed photo Atomic Tulips, because I really wanted this image to get some local hometown love … and I’m also submitting this image for BUILT 2023.

(5/8) = 2

Say the mathematical formula out loud. “5 over 8 for 2.” Or, in basketball parlance, 5 (Mustapha Traore) over 8 (Tavares Sledge) for 2 points. It’s one of two lenticular prints I submitted at Altamont this year, and the second one is …

SC&H RAILROAD CROSSING

Now the cool thing about this photo is … as you walk by it … the crossing light flashes. Each lens goes to red in its own pattern.

And my final entry …

HUDSON RIVER SUNRISE

This one is getting the “double show” treatment, as this print is also on the walls in Syracuse.

The Altamont Fair opens today, and I’m planning on driving over there tonight. So if you get there before I do … don’t spill the beans. Let me find out my success or my failure on my own.

Thanks. And good luck to all the entrants this year.
