Sometimes the best moments in photography occur when you look up … and you grab the first camera your hands can grasp.

I took some shots of the elevated gondola ride at the New York State Fair earlier this year. Some of the shots were captured with my Nikon F2S pink-skinned camera (“Nikon Athena”). But I didn’t feel like waiting around for the film to get developed. So I also captured a few shots with my cell phone. One way or the other … this image will land in the short pile for Competition Season 2024, mark my words.
