The original plan was to leave Albany in the morning, drive to Connecticut, and drop off my artworks at the Durham Fair. Then drive home. And then go back to Durham this coming Sunday and see how everything did.
Then I saw the weather report.
Tropical Storm Lee heading straight for New England, with coastal flooding warnings in effect.
And I would be driving RIGHT INTO THAT COASTAL WARNING.
I can’t take that chance.
So I made an executive decision. And that executive decision meant that I was NOT driving to Durham yesterday to drop off my photos and my latched hook rug.
I’ll save those entries for next year.
In this case, I have to consider my personal safety. I’m not a fan of driving through torrential rain and wind. And the governors of several New England states already declared weather emergencies. So there’s no reason for me to be STUPID and risk my life for this.
I pass no shade or detriment upon the Durham Fair. I’ve enjoyed entering the show for years and years, and look forward to entering in 2024.
When the weather is more amenable for drop-off.
