A few weeks ago, I blogged about the Montgomery, Alabama riverboat brawl, and shared several video clips and commentary from online sources. One of those sources is a Las Vegas-based voice talent who operates under the name Mic Tyson.
After I followed him on social media, I discovered that Mic Tyson is a big fan of the Las Vegas Raiders. No, seriously. He loves the Silver and Black as if it were manna from heaven. Then again, it’s the Raiders, so there’s that. 😀
But in following Mic Tyson, I’ve discovered that he not only loves the Raiders, he’ll do ribald commentary on their postgame highlights – commentary that contains equal parts WWE bombast, vintage ESPN “Big Show” highlights, and obscure pop culture references. And these clips are both funny as hell and incredible in their detail.
Take, for example, his most recent tear-down of the New England Patriots in last week’s Raiders-Patriots contest. A few notes here for the uninitiated – Raiders QB Jimmy Garappolo gets referred to alternatively as “Jimmy Bitches” and “The Panty Snatcher,” for some reason, while Josh Jacobs is christened “The Wrecking Ball” – for obvious reasons, natch. And when Garappolo got knocked out of the game, Brian Hoyer – also known as “Dime Store Bruce Willis” – received some Mic Tyson shine.
Now if I could listen to Mic Tyson NFL commentaries each week, that would be enough.
Then Annie Agar came into the picture.
Agar is another social media personality who has developed a nice little schtick – she recreates an NFL social medial conference, where she imitates all the different teams by wearing the different jerseys of each squad. This is drop-dead hilarious stuff.
For example … here’s Annie Agar running down Week 5 of the NFL, including a few digs at the Steelers for having the dumbest offensive coordinator to ever enter a football stadium. Yeah, I’m on the Fire Matt Canada bandwagon, what’cha got to say about that?
Now I want both Annie Agar and Mic Tyson to call a football game together. I don’t care which one. Give me a highlight game of something. You know what? Take Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth OUT OF THE SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BOOTH and put these two in. It would be freakin’ epic.
Just sayin’ is all. 😀
Hmmm, genuine living room commentary.
Could draw multitudes.
