There’s a new Mad Max film in 2024? Seriously???

Long-time readers of this blog will remember that when the last film in the Mad Max series, Mad Max: Fury Road, hit the theaters in 2015, I was completely stoked. I wanted another adventure of the cop-turned-vigilante Max Rockastansky. I wanted car crashes and action scenes that just screamed big-screen entertainment. And I had waited 30+ years for a sequel to Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.

And I was not disappointed. Not in the least.

Mad Max: Fury Road went on to win six Academy Awards, which for a genre film was an absolutely incredible achievement. But after that glorious film … where do you go for a new adventure?

Well, if you’re Mad Max creator George Miller … you go to one of the supporting characters from Mad Max: Fury Road – the character of Imperator Furiosa, played in Fury Road by Charlize Theron.

Get ready for 2024. And the debut of the next film in the Mad Max series.

I bring you … Furiosa.

Holy shit. This is incredible. And are they bringing back the big bad from Fury Road, the great Immortan Joe? And there’s War Boys in this picture?

This is just one Ford Falcon X8 Interceptor away from perfection. Trust me on this.

Sorry … I’m just a wee bit stoked that this got made and is debuting in May 2024.

Clear my calendar. I mean it.
