I will admit to watching The Dukes of Hazzard on Friday nights a long, long time ago.โMaybe it was the formulaic routine of the show – Duke boys get mixed up in something, Duke boys try to outfox Sheriff Roscoe and Boss Hogg, Duke boys jump their orange ’69 Dodge Charger over some riverbed, and Waylon Jennings narrates.โOh, and there were two other good reasons to watch The Dukes of Hazzard – and they were both of Catherine Bach’s legs.โTrust me on this.
It’s a freakin’ live-action Warner Bros. cartoon, people.โAnd the reason there are so few ’69 Dodge Chargers in the world is because this show wrecked about 5,000 of them in crashes and stunts.โ
But I’m not here to reflect on the history of this show.โJust on the current actions of one of its stars.โThat would be John Schneider, Bo Duke on the series.โAfter his time on the show, he recorded an album, had a couple of Top 40 hits, spent a few years on the show Smallville, and most recently appeared as the “Donut” on The Masked Singer.โ
Then, last Thursday, Mr. Schneider decided to respond to something he saw on a social media site.โAnd his response … was … yeah, I got nothing.โYou see it for yourself.
Let me put it this way.โIf I ever sent a message like that to cause harm to a President or to his family … the Secret Service would be pounding on my door in less than five minutes.โJohn Schneider eventually took down the social media post … but as you know on the internet, once something hits the internet, it doesn’t come down from the internet.
According to Deadline, the Secret Service have opened up an inquiry regarding Schneider’s social media statement.โSchneider would later claim that he never suggested harm should come to the President, but still … you make posts like this, you should be prepared for the consequences.โ
Just an absolute brain-dead statement from a C-list celebrity.โ
Trust me.โIt almost makes me want to root for Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane by comparison.โ

Ol’ Bo is now what you’d call a chiselhead, right, Chuck? I read about this, and, yeah, I’m like, give to me the break! “Dukes” had already fallen to cancel culture because of the Confederate flag on the roof of the General Lee. Now, this. John Schneider, pick up the white courtesy phone. Grieving your wife aside, your career is over.
