What’s Up in the Neighborhood, May 4 2024

Hello to all of you on this glorious holiday. Just remember … one of the great things about Star Wars fandom is that the one character you hate in that movie will become, by the next movie or two, one of the most beloved characters.

I give an example. Star Wars – “It’s a big gorilla. Totally ruins the movie for me.”

The Empire Strikes Back – “Yoda looks like a puppet with Grover from Sesame Street’s voice. Why can’t we have more Chewbacca in our films?”

Return of the Jedi – “Oh, come on! Ewoks? Fighting teddy bears? Yoda could wipe them out with one single wave of his hand.”

The Phantom Menace – “Can someone edit Jar Jar Binks out of this film? Ugh. I’d rather see a whole movie about the Ewoks instead.”

The Last Jedi – “Enough with Rose Tico, I’d rather see Jar Jar Binks restored to the story.”

The Rise of Skywalker – “Oh come on, you only gave Rose Tico ONE LINE in this movie? Bullshit. She deserves so much better.”

Trust me, I can’t WAIT to hear your gripes about the upcoming Mandalorian and Grogu movie.

But enough pontificating about a galaxy far, far away. Today is also the day to recap the blog posts and photos and thoughts of those wonderful people that are part of my personal blogroll.
