While experimenting with rapid-fire infrared shots in my modified Nikon Df camera, I wanted to see if the camera could capture high-speed images in this format.
So I set up the camera at Saratoga Harness and tried to capture a rapid-fire photo burst of the horses as they crossed the grandstand.
And here’s the best of the batch. This was the #5 horse in the third race, a stallion called Ideal Pack. He pretty much left the rest of the field staring at his rider’s bike. Which made it easy for me to capture this little shot as he trotted by me.

I can work with this. Let’s see if I can get something similar at Saratoga / belmont in a few weeks. 😀
Good shot. I’d be interested to see how it’d work with the faster horse in the Belmont.
