Tonight’s show, a rebroadcast of an episode from July 7, 2023, is a special themed broadcast, featuring some of the worst and most egregious examples of songs featuring faux Native American imagery and lyrical content – everything from war whoops to stereotypical drum beats. This isn’t a celebration – it’s a sad exploration and exploitation.

John Loudermilk’s variously titled and recorded “Indian Reservation” should probably be on this list. Another would be Elton John’s “Indian Sunset” is pretty bad too, and Bernie Taupin’s lyrics are not excused by their British citizenship.
