A Bisectional Rainbow at the SUNY Admin Building

A nasty thunderstorm rolled through the Capital District yesterday. A tremendous deluge from the skies.

But by 5:00 p.m., the rain cleared away. The sun peeked its rays through the remaining clouds.

Which … of course … means one thing and one thing only.

Rainbows are in play.

A late-afternoon rainbow in the Capital District would appear if you’re facing east, with the setting sun at your back and the misty remnants of rainfall still in front of you. And those were the perfect conditions for me to capture this rainbow at, of all places, the former Delaware & Hudson Railroad headquarters on Broadway – the building now known as the State University at New York Administrative Building.

I stood on the fifth floor of the Hudson and Green Avenue Parking Garage, aimed my camera forward … and this came out.

Yeah. Sometimes it’s just being in the right place at the right time with the right camera in your right hand.

Well, left hand for me, I’m left-handed.

But still … damn. I don’t know about all of you … but I think I’ve got one of my photos for Historic Albany Foundation’s BUILT charitable auction right here in this blog post.

Yeah. I think I do. 😀
