Let’s get one thing straight. Medhi Hasan is an incredibly brilliant and well-thought commentator. You may not agree with his arguments all the time, but you can agree that he has thoroughly researched every point of his argument and can defend every single one of his statements.
Let’s get one more thing straight. Ryan Girdusky is a racist clown.
And the two met last night on a CNN talk show, and the topics got very, very heated.
Until Ryan Girdusky made a comment that he’s probably used hundreds of times in private against Hasan and those of Hasan’s religion, nationality, creed or heritage.
And he made that comment based on a totally repulsive thought.
Just watch it here.
Wait, what? Did Ryan Girdusky make a reference to Hasan’s Muslim heritage by implying that Hasan deserves to be killed by a remote-controlled device similar to the ones Israel used to kill members of the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah?
Is Girdusky saying that Hasan is the equivalent of Hezbollah and deserves to be killed? For what? For being of the Muslim faith? For having dark skin? For being smarter than Girdusky?
I mean, credit (I guess) to CNN, who removed Ryan Girdusky from the panel show after the incident.
And credit (I guess) to CNN for finally stepping up and banning Ryan Girdusky from their network. Ostensibly AFTER the clip between Girdusky and Hasan went viral and got CNN lots of clicks and views.
But here’s where we are. We are one week away from the most pivotal Presidential election in our lifetime. We just witnessed a hate rally in Madison Square Garden where Trump’s MAGA racist clowns made more repulsive, racist jokes than your Uncle Johnny did at last year’s Thanksgiving dinner. And now that the hoods are off, these fools are trying to spread their poison and vitriol and garbage wherever they can. They’re emboldened. They no longer need to hide their racism and homophobia and transphobia and – in this case – Islamophobia.
To his credit, Mehdi Hasan stood his ground and called out Ryan Girdusky’s comment for what it was – a racist, hateful implication that Hasan should die because Girdusky couldn’t handle a one-on-one argument with a smarter man.
Nice move, Girdusky. You fucked around.
And now you found out.
Asshole.
Girdusky’s another attention seeking troll whose 15 minutes will end soon.

I’ve never heard of these two guys. But in the clip, Hasan flat out accused Girdusky of calling him an antisemite. Girdusky adamantly denied ever doing so. No apology or retraction from Hasan.
Then Girdusky supposedly “implied” SOMEthing, via reference to a beeper (insert your own theory here________). After brief cross discussion, Girdusky apologized on air, 3 times; and restated the apology 4 times to the host. Girdusky was shown the door. Go figure, but “This is CNN.” (Be still and RIP, JEJ.)
But now, the bigger picture. Apparently people have become so fragile that they’re actually terrified of and psychologically disabled by…words. My recommended therapy? Binge watch all 205 episodes of “All in the Family.” Yeah, from the 70s, when one could freely join the rest of the country in laughing at a half hour of irreverent humor. Gotta be a reason why that show ran for nine seasons, and with seven spin-offs.
Yeah, the good old days – back when any name calling was usually just returned in kind, and / or it was simply laughed off. And then forgotten.
No tearful hand-wringing, no one was institutionalized due to hurt feelings, no media headlines, and no one faced the threat of legal action over allegations of attempted conspiracy to commit hate speech. in the third degree.
Lordy, can we get a grip? Before you know it we’ll be doing the same thing over dirty looks…or falling leaves.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to try and find out what the current punishment is for wrongly, maliciously and repeatedly accusing someone of being a Nazi.

What exquisite timing.
Speaking of name-calling…
I’ve been left disgusted and virtually speechless by our current sitting US President referring to ~half of the American voting public as ‘garbage.’ His word, not mine.
And as yet not refuted by candidate Harris, so…
Just thought I’d break that news, since most media outlets probably won’t be offering it today.

Girdusky is every Trump supporter. They lack the ability to think critically nor have a moral center string enough to know that someone who disrespects Vietnam POWs and then leads an insurrection to overthrow the government should not be in the White House.
