There’s a big snowstorm on its way. My home area is looking at anywhere from three to six inches of snow. Which means that when I walk outside, my neighborhood will look like an igloo dealership.
In situations like this, I could either do like everybody else – get the shovel, try to find the igloo that looks like it might contain a 2017 Chevrolet Volt Premier and start digging …
Or I could be smart, and drive my Volt over to the parking garage at my day job, where the car will remain nice and safe and snow-free. So I don’t have a car for a day or two, but there’s no way I’m traveling in crappy weather unless I absolutely must.
So after I parked the car, and was on my way back to a pick-up location for an Uber to take me back home …
I spotted a fallen evergreen branch on the ground. And apparently whatever snow remained on that evergreen branch’s needles stayed there as the branch hit the cold, wet sidewalk.
My Uber’s on its way. It should arrive at any moment.
But I have time. Quick. Pull out the phone.
Get this shot.

Yeah, I have no idea if I’ll ever enter that photo in any competitions. Maybe I will, maybe I won’t.
But I’m glad I at least got the shot when I did …
Instead of walking past it and thinking to myself, “Why didn’t I get this shot?”
Oh, wait, my Uber driver is here. I’ll have to stick with this image.
Maybe that’s for the best.
Great drone shot of Iceland’s fjords!
