The Latch Hook Covered Bridge project as of March 3, 2025

No, I didn’t watch the Oscars yesterday. Not because of any bias toward this film or that, I just didn’t see any film nominated that I really rooted for. I mean … no Oscars for Deadpool & Wolverine? No Oscars for Babygirl? Come on, Nicole Kidman fake-orgasming had to earn SOMETHING…

Nah, I just spent the day working on the latch hook covered bridge. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that even if I just blocked out everything in my life and just went on this project like it was my last breath, I still won’t get it done in time for Competition Season 2025.

But … I am making major progress from this time last month.

want to get this thing done in time for Competition Season 2025, I can’t procrastinate. No sirree.

Here’s where I stood last month on this project.

And as of last night … when some film I never saw or never BOTHERED to see won an Oscar for Best Picture …

I was at this point on the project.

As you can see, I finally finished the east-sided picket fence, and you can sorta see the outline of the covered bridge. At least into the road leading up to the bridge. And the tiny gap of clearing inside the bridge.

This is really going well. I mean, yeah, I should have started it a year ago instead of six months ago, but that’s just me. It’ll look good for Competition Season 2026, for certain.

And hopefully by the end of March, I’ll have the rest of the eastern panel complete and begin work on the western panel.

And by that time, the Oscars might actually nominate Fantastic Four: First Steps or Tron: Ares or Thunderbolts* or one of the other popcorn-summer movies for this year.

We shall see. 😀
