I went for a photo walk yesterday. Needed to clear my head, and the best way for me to do that is to grab my camera gear and shoot something. And I did. Spent most of the day driving from one locale to the other, shooting this, that and the other thing.
You will certainly see those images in future blog posts, but those were captured on film and they need to be sent off to the pro lab for development.
That being said … during my excursion into the wild, I stopped at a little town in Vermont to capture some covered bridges. Because, yeah, I do that.
As I parked my car and got out, I saw what looked like a tiny butterfly. It was fluttering over the muddy ground, not a care in its short life.
Okay, little guy. Just hold still a second while I get my cell phone.
And … say cheese …

I gotcha.
A quick online search revealed that I had captured a White Admiral butterfly, a species native to the Adirondacks. This particualr butterfly was considered an endangered species, but has since made a return to its native habitat.
I kinda look at this as a reminder. The world can be a crazy place. And there are moments when nothing makes sense.
And then you see a butterfly … and you realize that there is peace and tranquility in the world.
And yes, I’m totally okay with that.
