The Pentacon Six TL walks through Congress Park

Come hell or high water, I’m going to make this Pentacon Six TL medium format film camera go through its paces. And with a roll of AGFA Aviphot infrared film in the chassis, and an R72 filter on the lens, I went to Saratoga Springs’ Congress Park for a few shots.

And let’s start with this infrared doozy.

These two statues, officially known as “The Tritons,” but nicknamed “Spit and Spat,” are part of the walking tour around Congress Park. They blow water shots at each other. I should note that several years ago, some jackass damaged both statues in a nasty fit of vandalism. Thankfully, the vandal was caught, and the statues were repaired.

There’s a nice little stream that runs through the park, and if you’re patient, you can see some ducks as they congregate on the water. I was patient.

Infrared film does give you a nice opportunity for a reflection in the water, doesn’t it?

One more shot, this time of the Trask Monument. The Trask Monument stands in front of a reflecting pool, and the pool has several sculpted trees along its border.

Yeah, this one is a keeper. Might be too late for Competition Season 2025, but I can put it in the short pile for next year.

As you can imagine, I’m developing a good familiarity with this camera.

Let’s keep it going.
