Just for curiosity, I looked up how many times I’ve created an entry for this blog category. Counting its original iteration as a “Best of our TU Community Bloggers” recap when the Times Union stopped supporting its community bloggers (the first of many times they did that), I’ve penned over 500 of these recaps, including over 400 since my post -2017 Times Union escape.
The posts underwent several changes in name and format and date; it picked up the “What’s Up in the Neighborhood” designation when the beloved local blog platform All Over Albany, who used to do a blog recap every Wednesday, folded. Since then, it’s been a Saturday staple on this platform.
So let’s get right to it, shall we?

Have a great weekend, everybody!
My mom, Anne Pratt Slatin, passed away yesterday morning. We spent her last full day together talking about her life and all the memories we shared. She was a part-time mother and a full-time friend—my best friend from the very beginning. I miss her. 😦

So sorry for your loss. It’s good that you spent her last day remembering the good times. Always remember the good times.

Mom was the one I truly liked. Everyone on her side of the family were my people, too.
