The Latch Hook Covered Bridge project as of November 3, 2025

This is crazy.

I started this rug project – a recreation of a photo I took of the Middle Covered Bridge in Woodstock, Vermont – last year around this time. I dibbed and dabbed at it, and halfway through the project I put it aside, causing me to miss the deadline for completing it and submitting it to competition this year.

However … recently, I’ve developed plenty of oomph and creativity on the project.

I mean … this is where I was two weeks ago.

And here’s where I left off last week.

I combined the three canvases together, and hooked up through the joining seams. Last week, I finished the right side.

Today … lookie.

Woah.

You can see the foliage THROUGH the entrance to the covered bridge. You can see the woodwork on the roof of the bridge. And you can see the slope of the bridge that extends over the sidewalk.

And mathematically … counting 100 pulls per uncompleted square group …

I’m looking at 4,200 pulls of yarn to complete this project.

This makes me happy. I’m actually closer to the finish line than ever.

And I’ll take that every single day.
