I’ve entered Historic Albany Foundation’s BUILT charitable auction for the past fifteen years. The artwork sales help preserve local Albany architecture and history, as part of the mission statement from Historic Albany Foundation.
And this year, I entered two artworks. One photograph and one mixed-media collage.
Time to check out how things look.

This year’s BUILT is hosted at the historic Ebeneezer Baptist Church on State Street, and HAF did a tremendous job arranging all the artworks for maximum exposure and display.
Wow, here’s my 90 Minutes of Moonlight image over here on this wall.

And my tribute to a forgotten merchant of the 1860’s, Straight’s Elephantine Shoes.

The artwork at BUILT is absolutely breathtaking. Albany’s creatives outdo themselves every single year.
Heck, someone took one of those fiberglass Nipper statues and painted it up. Wow. I should buy this.

I’m telling you, that would look incredible in my living room. Let me see the price here.

Not for sale? Then it must be free!! #hahahahaha
So … anyways …
This morning, I found out that there was a small bidding war on Straight’s Elephantine Shoes, and it finally closed at $120, which is nice. 90 Minutes of Moonlight did not sell, however, so it is still on display today (BUILT’s final day) and can be purchased at the opening price of $100 should someone desire. If not claimed after that, I’ll find another home for it. I’m okay with that.
And I still have one more artwork for the end of the year – my showing at the Albany Center Gallery Members’ Show in their new home at 48 State Street.
Yeah, this will be fun. For sure.
Nice!
But Nipper has “Go ahead, kids, that’s only indoor / outdoor carpet. See if I’ll topple over and break into pieces.” written all over it.
