Wait, some of the redacted Epstein files can be UNREDACTED??

This is why I love the Mastodon social media network.

I’m bringing you to this website, where someone actually figured out that SOME of the Epstein files – you know, the ones that apparently contain nothing but big black horizontal lines throughout them – can possibly have those lines removed, revealing the text underneath.

Follow me on this.

Apparently there’s several types of PDF documents. You can scan a paper document into a digital file and convert it to a PDF, and then use tools to “redact” certain text (i.e., search for everything in a document that says “Orange Goblin” and make a black box appear over it). Then you can click a setting that not only makes that box permanent, but removes the text underneath.

There’s also the technique of converting an existing digital document (i.e., an MS Word document) into a PDF, and then using those tools to highlight text and then “redact” it.

But if you don’t do it properly, all you’re doing is drawing a black box over text. And the text might still be there. And the text can be recoverable.

And someone figured out that not all the Epstein files are fully redacted.

I bring you to the Krassencast, a Substack area where someone figured out that not all the Epstein files were redacted properly.

Click this link here. I promise, it’s safe.

Apparently this file, Government’s Exhibit 1 (link is here) contains various redactions. Which … if the text is highlighted in Adobe and then pasted into a neutral word processing program, such as Notepad or Wordpad …

Voila. Now I’m not going to un-redact any of this on my blog. The last thing I need is for the government to come knocking on my door and ensuring my next blog post is from Alligator Alcatraz.

And this technique does NOT work with most of the other documents on the Epstein Files website.

But it does work with with the exhibit I linked. So do your own testing. Your mileage may vary.

So if you feel the urge … go right ahead and see what’s behind the black boxes.

This could get interesting.
