The Latch Hook Covered Bridge project as of November 28, 2025 – NOW IT’S DONE!

Remember that covered bridge latch hook project i worked on for the better part of a year?

You know … this one??

Technically, all the stitching and hooking and yarning that took all year is complete.

But I still had to take care of one small feature.

I had to reinforce the sides. And that meant adding a binding fabric to all four sides.

And although I postponed the project for the better part of a month … I had to get the sides bound, or this Competition Season-worthy rug could NOT be entered in Competition Season. Plain and simple.

So that meant ordering a very long roll of binding fabric. And yesterday, while the rest of the Capital District dug their way out of a blizzard … I grabbed the fabric, some white thread, a pair of sewing needles, and got to stitching.

A few hours later … and a few bruised thumbs later (that needle hurts when you try to push it through thick yarn and canvas) … here’s what the stitching looks like.

So, in the end … the fully completed latch hook rug looks like this.

There it is, nicely bound and ready for display.

Yeah, I just had to take care of that little binding issue.

Good thing I didn’t let that linger until summer.
