What’s Up in the Neighborhood – A MILESTONE

Before I start our regular Saturday recap of the blog posts and photos and thoughts of the wonderful people on my blogroll … a personal note.

Today’s blog post is my 7,000th published blog post. That includes going all the way back to 2007 for my original blogspot.com portal, then 8 1/2 years at the Times Union’s blog farm … and, for the past nine years, as a solo practitioner.

Damn. I had 7,000 things to say over all that time?

Maybe it’s true – as a child, maybe I WAS vaccinated with a Victrola needle.

Well, if you’re feeling the urge to send cake or cards … make sure the cake is sugar free, and make sure the cards contain little gift certificates in them from places like Harbor Freight and Nikon and Chevrolet and Red Bull and CPKC and the Pittsburgh Steelers and all those other wonderful places. 😀

I should note that while today is my 7,000th blog post, there are a few people in the blogroll who are celebrating their 14th anniversary of blogging (I didn’t have my glasses on) and 17th anniversary of blogging (the Cawston Greenway). Congratulations to them.

And all of you – thanks for being with me on this 7,000th blog post.

And after today … I’ll surely begin blog post 7,001.

Have a great weekend, everybody!
