Last month, I tested out some new modified infrared lenses on a combination of my Nikon Df infrared-modded camera. And the first tests were rather impressive. I could achieve 720nm infrared shots with a fisheye lens that wasn’t previously designed for such adventures.

With a warm day yesterday, I felt it was a good time to test the IRChrome filter on the Zodiak fisheye lens. This was just a walk-through in the neighborhood – photograph some trees, photograph the gazebo in the park, photograph along the Black Bridge that connects Green Island to Van Schaick Island …
Let’s see how we do.

Wowie. That is tremendously strong.
Let’s take a walk over to the Black Bridge and shoot a few shots from there.

And maybe from the other side, into the setting sun …

The sun’s too low for me to test out the third lens filter – the “candy chrome” filter – right at the moment. But I’m anticipating some good results from it as well.
Yeah. This could be REALLY fun.
cool effect!
